Hello Peter, >So the grain was part of the photo from the start - >it's been there, done that, paid its dues, it has a >raison d'etre, it's a founding father. > >The point is that the dots are merely an artifact of the >algorithm used by the driver - they have no organic connection >to the original photo. they're interlopers, party crashers, >- THAT'S why they stand out. Your eye tells you that somehow, >they don't belong there; they have no intrinsic relationship >to the original photo. > >At least that's my theory about why I find dots more annoying >than grain. I never thought of it this way - I really like it. And it supports my point that the BO dots should not be equated with grain. Very nice! >My point about people having poor vision was only that >OBVIOUSLY if someone couldn't see it they wouldn't >be annoyed by it. But it _is_ possible that someone can both see the dots and not be annoyed by them. As I said in another post, I have come to accept BO prints for what they are. I will be as delighted as you when we finally have what you are asking for. I have been wanting exactly the same thing, and the fact that it doesn't exist and the extreme frustration I experienced trying to work with other methods is what moved me to explore BO and share the information. I agree, it shouldn't have to be this difficult. However, I felt that simply complaining about it wouldn't accomplish much. A solution was needed to keep those people having difficulty from quitting in frustration. BO is an easy way to get on first base. Home plate can come later.
