Clayton, I tried to follow your workflow last night. I recently bought a 2200 and have used a 1280 for over a year and also have an 875 and 780. I debated long and hard over the last year and a half about adding a quad set to my 1280 but didn't want to limit myself to monotone only printing on my wide format printer. I then considered adding it to my 875 but I do do quite a bit of monotones and wanted the ability to print larger than 8 x 10. So--I've been in a quandary. When the 2200 was announced I decided to buy it in hopes that this would be a better solution. In the past, I've been processing in duotones (tris and quads) to come to some sort of solution. Last night I tried your method on my 2200 with the matte black ink and 2880 dpi. At this moment I am trying it with my 1280 at 1440. My question is: has anyone else tried it with the 2200 and with the 2 different black inks and what are your feelings about it--assuming that you are in the camp where it is one possible solution.
