At this moment I am trying it with my 1280 at 1440. My question is: > has anyone else tried it with the 2200 and with the 2 different black inks > and what are your feelings about it--assuming that you are in the camp where > it is one possible solution. My main problem with BO on the 2200 is that I simply don't like the reddish tone of the epson black inks. I've exchanged prints with Clayton and I think the results he gets with MIS VM inks are incredible. I much prefer the tone of his prints to what I get on my 2200. For the same reason I don't really like printing with the two blacks together, they're too warm for my taste. Of course, all of this is just my personal preference, your tastes may be different. I also reccommend you try the iProof PowerRIP demo to see whether that is something that could work for you. You get little or no metamerism and beautiful neutral black and whites. I love the output I'm getting, while Matthew here found the dithering slightly too coarse, but since you're considering BO printing I think it's possible you could like the results. You can find the demo here: http://www.iproofsystems.com/epson/pcsupportepson.htm You may be interested to know that Lyson will announce both cartridges and a CIS system for the 2200 in early march, and I'm pretty sure others are going to make announcements soon as well.
