The black on the 1280 has metamerism? I don't own a 1280
but on my 2200 the (matte) black is apparently the only ink
that DOESN'T have metamerism.

Here's a question: Inks are pigments in a vehicle. I own a
collection of stone-plate lithographs that are about 100
years old and they have no metamerism and don't even appear
to have faded/shifted much in the last century. How come
they knew how to make stable metamerism-free inks back in
1895 and a high-tech heavy R&D company like Epson can't
do it?
