I did try it on my 870 color printer but then it has MIS dye ink so I can't speak to the Epson black. My BO print with MIS black came out very dark however. I really like both Clayton Jones' Black Only and the MIS-VM with the Roark workflows but I think the trick is in the original image. If it's a good sharp image without noise and with a solid histogram both workflows will get you there. You obviously have that nailed. The images on your website are beautiful! Do you print those?
