Digital BW, The Print

Hi,

Just wanted to thank everyone for their words of strength and
encouragement to this New Yorker.  The entire firm with all of my
friends, which was on the 39th and 40th floors of WTC #2 got out just
before the building came down.  Another friend of mine was on the 85th
floor of #2.  They told him to stay put after the first tower was hit,
but he decided to jump in an elevator. He made it to the 35th floor and
then the second plane hit.  He got back into the stairwell and ran
outside.  There were many people in his company who chose to stay put as
they were told.   I am very greatful, but my heart still aches for all
of the people who lost family members.  It is a terrible tragedy that
will remain in my memory for the rest of my life.

In the piezo world, I have starting using VueScan with my Polaroid
SprintScan 45, since the Insight software that comes with the scanner
isn't much good.  It works fine when scanning 35 or 6x6.  Last night I
tried to scan a 4x5 BW neg and am getting streak marks on the scan.
Anyone every get this?  Anyone know what to do to fix it?  It is not in
the neg and depending on which setting its on the streaks appear in
different places.
