FYI, I spoke with John at Colorbyte yesterday about the apparent registration problem I noticed under the microscope. He informed me that they were aware of it and the problem varies from printer to printer. Fixing it for one printer would make it off for others, and since the error is small, they are inclined to leave it as long as it is not noticable in the prints. The error I saw is indeed small. It is approximately the size of one droplet of ink, and is not noticable to the naked eye (at least my naked eye). The only place I've seen it even slightly noticable is in the contrived example of parallel horizontal black lines at the proper frequency. --Tom ----- Original Message ----- From: "Thomas Fors" <tom@...> To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 1:04 PM Subject: [Digital BW] Microscopic View of IP and Epson RIP > I noticed what appears to be a registration error between the Black ink and Light colored inks in the IP print. It is most noticable in black text or wherever there is a black line on the print and shows up as a Light Cyan outline below the black with Light Magenta or Light Black as well. I'm inclined to believe this is a bug in the IP driver and not a problem with my particular printer since I don't see the problem using the Epson RIP. I am willing to test that theory though if someone would be willing to send me a step wedge printed on their 2200 using IP.
