Susan,
Why not just upgrade to Piezography version 6.0? It only costs $49 for the upgrade (to registered users who purchased before June 2001) and it includes the software necessary for several printer models, new features and new profiles for papers.
As for the printer, I suggest you look over the postings at the PiezoBW forum to see what results people are having with the various models. You may know already that the 1160 is the most recommended model for PiezoBW. Newer models are being supported but you should read the postings concerning CIS use (assuming you want to use a CIS) for the newer models.
Good Luck,
Steadman

Subject: [Digital BW] printer recommendations
Hi,
In a former life I was a traditional darkroom B&W printer. A
couple of years ago I got an Epson 750 and then a 1200 and
eventually started trying to use Piezography. It has worked OK,
but I've always had banding issues with the 1200 despite
following all the suggested remedies.
I'm ready to try a new printer. I'd be printing 19x13s and I think I'd
like to use CIS. Any suggestions? Also I suppose that means
purchasing another version of Piezography software, right?
Thanks,
Susan
