Don't think so. 1) PortraBW is not a true B&W emulsion, it is a chromogenic (dye cloud) film - hence much less grain compared to same speed B&W emulsions. 2) The scanner is extremely soft - see the edges on the man's head. How a scanner may resolve grain while being that soft in such high acutance edges? To me, claiming that such a soft scanner is able to resolve grain is completely wrong.
