Digital BW, The Print

Hello all, I'm struggling to make a good neutral tone print using 
Epson ink in an Epson 960.With premium glossy, desaturated RGB file 
with the driver set to black the print is slightly greenish. Using 
the same file on Colorlife paper,driver set to "color" (but still a 
desaturated image) the print is slightly magenta.
My previous printer (c80) made great b&w prints using MIS inks but 
would only make a few prints before it would start squirting out 
puddles of ink...that's why I'm a little hesitant to use non-Epson 
inks in the 960.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated!
