[OT] Photography workshops/tours in Provence (multiple posting)

2003-03-23 by David J. Bookbinder

A photographer friend of mine, Janice Fullman, is offering photo tours of
Provence in conjunction with a French photographer. It occurred to me that
some list members might be interested in participating. Following is a brief
description of the tours along with URLs leading to more info.

Thanks -

"Light in Provence" - photography workshop/tours

featuring: photography - gastronomy - culture

Capture the landscapes and colors of Provence in a small group led by two
professional photographers - one French, one American.

We will explore towns like Avignon, St.R\ufffdmy, Aix-en-Provence, Arles; visit
hilltop villages including Gordes, Roussillon, Bonnieux, Oppede, Les Baux de
Provence; and discover places that are way off the beaten path. In our small
group (9 or less), we'll enjoy a real glimpse into the culture of Provence,
with private tours of abbeys and vineyards, village festivals, visits to
producteurs of olive oil and artisan cheeses. Outdoor markets will surround
us with colors, sweet scents, and every kind of delicious local product ...
and photo opportunities.

Our home base is a beautiful B&B just outside of Les Baux de Provence, off a
country lane between olive groves and fruit orchards. Each room has a
private bath, and a terrace looking toward the swimming pool. Our hostess is
a French woman of great charm, and a wonderful cook!

Our leaders are both passionate about photography and France. Christian
Roger, whose studio is in Avignon, has a special expertise in night
photography and light painting; as a native, he also knows the region.
Janice Fullman, our American francophile, specializes in environmental
protraits; she has made several visits to this area, and is fluent in
French.
