Robert, Antonis, and the other beta testers: Bravo--well done! I, like Paul, am eagerly awaiting the Windows version. In reviewing the v 1.04 manual, several questions came up as I looked at the pages dealing with the Ink Tweaks and Linearization windows using a 1280_FS_EAM example. 1) In the Hex-FS inkset, the Pc=C and Pm=M -- basically yielding a 4- ink inkset. I was wondering why the curves for the Pc-C and Pm-M were so different? I think I can see the advantage of starting them off in a slightly staggered fashion to smooth the transisition (minimize dots), but not later. Did any one try using only 4 curves (actually 6 curves, but with 2 doubled up)? 2) The linerazation figure shows significant grayscale "lightness" between 50 and 95%. My first instinct would be to go back to the curves in the Tweaks Window and pull up the Pc,C,Pm,and M curves to darken the 50 to 95% portion of the grayscale. In other words, conduct more of the linearization directly in the curves rather than apply what I assume (jump on me if I am wrong) to be a single transfer function to the composite profile. Did anyone experiment? Thanks. Jeff Randall
