This is the clear plastic support arm for the CIS ink tubing that holds it up above the print head carriage as the carriage moves back and forth during printing. The arm is attached to the case of the printer under the lid on the right side by using one half of a pair of Velcro pieces. The bottom piece has a peal off contact adhesive to hold the Velcro to the printer case. The other side of the Velcro is attached to the CIS support arm. It looks like the adhesive gets tired after awhile, slowly comes loose and the support arm droop lower and lower and finally will impact with the moving print head if you don't spot it in time or the lines will start to dray. Makes a horrible sound and is not likely to be very good for the printer. If you don't have a CIS, it is hard to describe without pictures.
