Is there a plugin or procedure I could use to remove dust from a picture based on a selection of the dust? I basically want to do the same thing most scanners do in software based on the IR channel in an image. I use vuescan with my FS4000US but the dust removal softens the image noitcably, while if I scan the IR channel myself and adjust it in photoshop I can get a good, clean selection that should enable me to remove all the dust without any softening. I've tried the dust & scratches filter, but it softens the image - I want to maintain the grain structure. The polaroid dust and scratches filter applied to the selection doesn't work that well either, it doesn't remove enough dust, and when it does it also softens the grain structure. -- Daniel Staver http://daniel.staver.no
