Luke:

I ordered the 2200 earlier this week.  What are the advantages to RIP 
software and what RIP software should be considered?  Is it best to 
have a dedicated box for the RIP?

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
