He manupilated them to no end. The Schweitzer images being a case in point. In fact, in the darkroom he added elements in most, if not all, of his images. But it took him time, hard work and if I may say so, dedication! As we all know, image manupilation is still going on today, and it's much easier. But it was invented way before the digital era. Anyway, what is thruth ? And is photography so much different from other arts where artists can interpret reality and be praised for it? Cheers, Andre
