I have both an S900 and an S9000 and was this ("") close to buying the Lyson
quad black inkset ... until I heard that Jon Cone is coming out with one later
this month. I was in touch with him via e-mail and what he told me convinced me
to wait for his inks, which will be pigment-based. They will work on the Canon
because they'll have the same viscosity as the Canon OEM inks(or so he says).
The price will be about the same as the Lyson inks, and no expensive software
will be required--just some profiles which will cost around $75.
One issue with the Lyson quad inks for Canon that I've heard about is that you
get visible dots in some areas. Cone claims this will not happen with his inks.
Time will tell if it's true, of course. My hope is they will work as advertised
and that he'll eventually start selling them in bulk, as with his Epson inks.
Inkjet Mall currently carries Cone's inks.
