RE: [Digital BW] MIS Ink Experience/Warning

>>In three years I have never had a clog in the lines on my NoMoreCarts
CIS<<

From the posts I have read over the last year, it does seem like the NMC
system uses a better quality tubing. I am disappointed that MIS hasn't
changed their tubing supplier by now because this seems to be a common
problem. (BTW, these CFS carts/tubing were brand NEW with the new inks).
Whether the new ink formulation is also a factor is hard to tell. I just
thought I would post my experiences to start a dialogue which might help us
understand these inks a bit better since they have now been out for a few
months.

>> but I print something with the printer at least once every couple of
weeks.<<

Unfortunately, I fell out of this pattern over the past three weeks and had
the resulting problem. I thought there could be a minor clogging problem,
but based on past experience with the old inks and the supposed improvements
with the new inks, I never imagined I would encounter my worst clog ever!

The black ink is flowing fairly well as of this morning but the color
positions are very crabby. They worked perfectly before but since I had to
take the whole CFS system out and work on it in the kitchen, I knew I
disturbed the color positions to the point of messing them up and requiring
another in draw through procedure. (Usually I can just pop a cart out, pull
the ink through and put the cart back in without problems. Last night's
black clog called for more extreme procedures at the sink.) As we all know,
these systems can be finicky, so perseverance is necessary. What seems a
lost cause at one moment will all of a sudden start working fine the next.
Hopefully I didn't wreck the seals on the bottom of the carts.

Thanks,
Doug
