I've taken exposed/unexposed (then developed) film and measured it and the color negative film I measured has a higher density range than the B&W negative film I measured...according to my densitometer: Supra 100 has a base of .28/.74/.91 and a max of 2.41/2.81/3.15. Tri-X has a base of .19 and a max of 2.16. That's a B&W density range of 1.97, and a color of 2.13/2.07/2.24.
