Digital BW, The Print

Dear list,

I'm new here.  I'm a photographer in Toledo, Spain and
am new to digital.  I shoot real film and scan.

I've recently got an Eye One Display to calibrate my
monitor and am thinking of getting PrintFix to make
DIY profiles of my Epson 1290 printer.    Has anyone
any experience of PrintFix to report?  Good or bad?

I'm wondering what the best ink / papaer combo might
be for decent b/w prints from the Epson 1290 I've got,
before I get onto make specific profiles.  I have the
original Epson ink that came with the printer at the
moment.

(PC platform, windows ME)
