I really doubt that this is true.  Olson used MS Enhanced K with MIS pigs
for years without trouble.  I've never detected or heard of any problem with
the 2.  They are both predominantly pigment and Epson compatible.

It would not make sense to do that.  The MS enhanced K is 25% dye to make it
darker.  The midtones would dilute that dye, and fade and warm very fast.
Midtones are very easy to make from 100% pigment ink, and 100% pigment is
the only way to get a state-of-the-art, very lightfast, and non-warming
(almost) quad.  The PiezoTones and MIS Ultra Tone B&W inksets are 100%
pigment.
