Paul, I did a comparison last week of 1440 and 2880 on a small photo I was restoring. I was using the nc curve in Windows and printing on a 1280. I didn't take the time to experiment further and didn't try to really analyze what was going on, but I concluded that the 1440 actually looked a little better than the 2880. It may even be that I had a setting wrong somewhere, so I'll do the comparison again in the near future. The customer wouldn't have seen a difference and I had to look pretty hard to see it from a viewing distance of perhaps 15-18". I was printing on the Epson SFA 425gsm paper. Have you or others done any real world comparisons of prints at 1440 vs 2880 yet?
