I'm having a problem that is driving me crazy! I'm using an Epson
1280 with an MIS CFS and the MIS Ultratone inkset. Initially, I was
having some problems with the output until Paul Roark suggested that
I try the 1270 driver and curves and things were looking great.
(Thanks again, Paul).
Now my problem is that I'm getting clusters of thin lines running in
the direction of the printhead. These lines seem to be in pairs about
1/64" apart and about 1/32" between the pairs. They run through the
image and extend approximately 1/4" on either side. Sometimes they
start before the image. Other than that, it is pretty random. Nozzle
checks are fine.
At first I thought maybe it was some lint or something on the print
head and tried the paper towel/windex thing and then ran some more
prints on junk stock to see if it was gone. That helped, but they
weren't completely gone. I tried the windex thing again and ran a
couple more prints on junk stock and that seemed to work, so I did a
print on my Concorde Rag. Nothing! Great! Ran another print and they
were back. Its very frustrating.
I went through the old messages to see if anything like this had come
up before and there was a short thread about a similar incident, but
with a different printer and with no conclusion.
Does anyone have any ideas? I'd love to hear them. These lines are
taking all the fun out of this.
