Digital BW, The Print

Boris, I don't have a 1280, but do have an 1160 running with MIS VM.  
I did a bunch of comparisons of results between this and a 2200.  The 
1160 + MIS VM blows away the 2200 in terms of highlights and 
midtones, but not in the deep blacks.  Metamorism <sp?> is more 
evident than you'd like on the 2200 as well (even after spending 
hours tweaking it with the European-only grayscale software).  I 
think you are doing something wrong.  I would not buy a 2200 if you 
are mainly interested in b&w, but if you want to do both and favor 
color the 2200 is a great machine.
