About 6 months ago I posted some quetions here about black and white printing for the 2200 on a PC. At that time there were 3 main approaches: 1. Use the stock Epson inks and drivers and live with the metamerism. 2. Use black-ink-only. No metamerism but very dotty and contrasty. 3. Use a RIP, since the RIPs use a different dithering algorithm that de-emphasizes the inks that are the biggest metamerism culprits such as the yellow. At that time the IP, Epson, and PowerRIP RIPs were the main candidates. People mailed me test images for the IP and EPson RIPs which I posted on my website and confirmed that they produced relatively neutral (a little bit sepia), metamerism-free prints with good tonal range. Rumours abounded that septone ink cartridges would be available Any Day Now for the 2200 but at that time none existed. I've been mostly away from the forum since then so __MY QUESTION__ is whether there have been any important NEW developments for BW printing on a 2200 for PC users since then.
