I never said you said you can't see dots. I was just kidding around - I
think we need more of that on this forum. :)
I tried BO printing myself during the time when I was failing miserably to
get neutral prints with colored inks. I didn't do any scientific readings
of dmax but did notice that the blacks were good and so were the highlights
when viewing from a distance. For me, the "contrasty" nature of the
printing method wasn't about the global contrast of the print, but more
about the local contrast in the greys. It had a rough look that made just a
plain grey look "contrasty" close up, but an even grey from a distance.
Surely we all view art with a loupe? :)
I look forward to the news about the 2200 system. I hope it's something
like this:
-Easily available and changeable cartridges (Ultratones or something
similar)
-Piece of software available on Windows that allows me to print in 16bit and
control all the inks without using the Epson driver.

Sorry, I can't say any more. But something is on its way through the
pipeline...<g>.

I never said you can't see dots. I just said that BO printing is not
any more contrasty than other techniques. If it's a low contrast
image you'll get a low contrast print, and vice versa.
