One of the most vocal proponents of black only printing on the entire Internet is Nicholas Hartmann, who is, or used to be, a major participant here on this Yahoo group. (in fact, he credits this group with his interest in Black Only printing). And he says that what he likes about B.O. printing is that it has an "authentic 35mm 'look'" and that the results most closely resemble actual darkroom photography. So he's a very prominent example of someone who draws direct comparisons. You seem to be trying have it both ways. If I say it's not in the same category as Quadtone and RIP and Lambda printing you complain I'm denigrating it; and if I make direct comparisons with them, you say you never said it's in the same league. So I don't know what you want. I can't tell whether you're saying it SHOULD be compared to Quadtone and RIP and Lambda printing, in which case I say it compares unfavorably, or whether you're saying such camparisons should not be made because it has it has its OWN characteristics, like watercolor shouldn't be compared to oil painting because they each have their own characteristics. But if it's the latter then we need to make that clear to newbies.
