Yes. The Mayer rod is the preferred application technique. Foam is a
major problem with brushing, rolling and screening. The Mayer rod
generates no foam and puts down a completely uniform and reproducible
film thickness when used correctly. It is the technique that chemists
use for quality control and testing of coatings.
