Digital BW, The Print

I am interested in the additional control that Quadtone Rip would
give me with my Epson 3000, but I wonder about OS X and a serial
printer port.
Has anyone had experience with this combination of
printer and software? Any suggestions on a PCI or USB adapter to
connect to the 3000? Would QTRip work with the Epson ethernet card in
the 3000?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.
