MacWorld magazine reviewed eight 20-inch LCDs

and the two which stood out, "with accurate color and wide viewing 
angles", were Apple's Cinema Display and NEC's MultiSync 2080US, 
which MacWorld said offered "... very similar screen performance with 
greater compatibility and flexibility."

Since you're not on a Mac, I'd suggest looking at the NEC. Where I 
don't know, but you could look at the Cinema Display as a surrogate at

where it will probably be connected to a Mac with Photoshop on it, so 
you could take some of your own images to see on it. It won't be 
profiled; still it might help to see your own work on it.

But the newest CRTs are smaller than the older ones, and if you 
aren't happy with these LCDs, I'd look hard at Sony's Artisan "Color 
Reference System" (monior)

which might not be more expensive because what you need to profile it 
comes with it. MacOutfitters in Bryn Mawr and Doylestown is listed as 
an Artisan reseller, so you might be able to see the best LCD and the 
best CRT side by side.
