RE: [Digital BW] flat screen suggestions

2003-08-10 by Matthew Carlisle

I have a couple of Viewsonic VX900s at work. They're a reasonable price,
but still about 700 bucks! Colours are bright, sharp, and everything an LCD
is great at, BUT, the saturation and brightness change when viewing from
different angles. I wouldn't buy one of these for home editing use because
of this. It may be the case that other displays absolutely do not change
brightness/saturation, but I really would advise going to CompUSA or
equivalent to check it out before you find a cheaper online retailer. :)

Subject: [Digital BW] flat screen suggestions

I have a small workspace and would like to replace my 21" crt
monitor -- which is the size of a small SUV -- with a flat screen if
there is one available at a reasonable price that will support
graphics applications. I use a PC for photography and would want a
largish monitor, say 19-20 inches at a minimum. Any suggestions
would be much appreciated. If this is not of general interest, you
could contact me off-list at kobrins@....

  Thanks,

  Steve
