Re: QTR 2.0

2003-08-26 by Roy Harrington

Hi Alan,

Here's the scoop on QTR 2.0:
It makes no difference whether or not you've installed QTR 1.1 previously.
So don't bother installing or uninstalling previous versions of QTR.

QTR 2.0 uses code and tables from both gimp-print 4.2.5 and 4.3.5.
However this is totally self contained within the QTR distribution. So
again so installing or uninstalling of any gimp-print versions is unnecessary.

Finally, yes, the Epson 2200 is supported by QTR 2.0. Carl has done
quite a lot of work on curves for the standard ultrachrome inks as well as
some work for the MIS ultratone inks. I've been trying to track tweaks
that the gimp-print guys are doing for the 2200 and 7600 so get the
best results.

So if you have a Mac with OS X is pretty painless to get started.

the Epson 2200, and the work Carl has done. Don't use the Mac much anymore, but
these posts have piqued my interest in trying QTR 2.0. A couple of questions to the
experts: Do I have to uninstall QTR 1.1 before installing 2.0? Is the Epson 2200
supported in Gimp-Print 4.2.5.0 and will QTR 2.0 function properly with this version
of Gimp?
