Digital BW, The Print

Hello All,

A review of last spring's Technical Print Exchange organized by Tom
Fors is now available on line.  

PLEASE read the text part of it to be sure and understand its purpose.
This was not a normal print exchange and it would be easy to
misinterpret the results.

This review was prepared with the hope that it will provide a helpful
service to the BW printing community.  Nothing can fully take the
place of examining the actual prints, but many of the exchange
participants felt that a published review of the results would
nevertheless be a valuable resource.

In order to to keep the review relevent, the plan is to continue to
update it as printing systems improve and new sample prints are
submitted.  So you might want to bookmark the page and check in now
and then to see if there's anything new.   Already three participants
have indicated they will be sending new prints soon.

Thanks to Tom Fors for the great idea to do the exchange and the
dedication to organize it and see it through to the end.  I know it
took a lot of time and effort.  Thanks also to all the exchange
participants who were willing to take the time to make up the special
prints and send them in, and hopefully will continue to do so as the
printing systems improve.
