I know the shadows are somewhat compressed on those curves, even on EEM with Eboni which is they paper/ink combination I made them for. I usually print with an additional adjustment layer that darkens the image before the curve is applied. The problem is that I managed to linearize them against a misprofiled stepwedge, so it prints most images too bright. Give me a week or so, and I'll have another look at them... I'm currently running modified C/LC positions and have made some curves I like for that combination, but those obviously won't work for the standard Ultratone inkset. I've never managed to get the Ultraones to work on glossy papers, I guess it must be something with my refilling procedure, because our setups should otherwise be identical. -- Daniel Staver http://daniel.staver.no > -----Original Message----- > From: Justin Florentine [mailto:justin@...] > Sent: 15. september 2003 16:36 > To: DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com > Subject: [Digital BW] MIS UT in 2200 w/ Roark/Staver curves: > shadow compression > > > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > So I'm starting to get some REALLY good results from my 2200 > with the UT > inks and the modified Roark curves (thanks Daniel!). > > The major problem I have now is compression in my shadow details.
