>Also, anyone using one of the newer Minolta Scan Dual >3 film scanners? I'm wondering about the sharpness >and I love the price. I just got one to replace my Scan Dual II (which after two years suddenly and inexplicably lost a sensor channel and therefore its ability to pick up thin parts of the negative), and it's great. It is _very_ similar to the II with some tweaks to the software, including the ability to do multiple passes during a scan to reduce shadow noise. The advance mechanism (moving from one frame to another) is much faster and quieter, as well. I have not done a direct comparison with the same negative, but I _believe_ it has more range than the II. And the price is hard to beat! -- Nick NICHOLAS HARTMANN Technical and scientific translator (414) 271-4890 nh@... http://www.nhartmann.com
