Clark Thomas told me about this software for digital cameras. I don't know that much about it; I assume it's some type of "acquiring" software for the D1, D1x, and D30. I hesitate to post this question on this list because it might devolve into another long, technical thread, which might even be considered off-topic for BW. But at least for me, it's very pertinent. I think for several reasons -- tightening budgets of clients, endless dust-spotting of scans from film, and time of turnaround -- I'm for the first time considering some type of digital camera for high-quality BW work. The one I'm serious about is the Nikon D1x. I guess my main question, and the only one that really matters is -- is it possible to get a quality 16x20 image from an 18meg RGB file? This software, Bibble, seems to do some internal sharpening, and maybe coupled with something like Genuine Fractals, maybe, possibly, hopefully, someone could end up with a high-quality, tight file? If anyone has direct experience with something like this, in the real world, rather than in theory, I'd love some feedback. Also, here's the URL for Bibble: http://www.bibblelabs.com/ and for Genuine Fractals: http://www.lizardtech.com/products/genuine_fractals.html
