Mark, First of all congratulations on the upcoming show. Good work! I agree with Steadman about shipping the prints unframed if possible. I recently did a show in Italy (I live in France) and had to take the prints with me by plane. I did the following: Matted the A3 size prints with 40x50cm white archival window mats/backboard, put each in a clear archival glassine envelope for protection and placed them in a print box. Put the box in a suitcase surrounded by pieces of umm...what do you call it - the white very lightweight rigid stuff that comes in either pellets or extruded shapes for packaging. Took the suitcase with me as checked luggage. When I got to destination I brought the prints to a previusly contacted framer and had them framed and delivered locally. In this case I used glass and luckily sold the whole show so I didn't have to cart them back to Paris :) but if I had to ship home I would have unframed them and had them shipped separately. Using plexiglass is a good idea which I didn't think of at the time. Cheers, Nina >* Any advice on how to ship about thirty 30'x30" framed prints?
