Isabel,

That is good since the MIS FS is not an ink that particularly clogs. With
the big smears on your print you may have just flooded the print head
leaving in on the underside which is drying and blocking the nozzles. I
suggest you clean off the bottom of your print head.

To do this on the 1280:

Turn off the printer.

Release the print head by rotating the large white gear wheel on the left
towards the front of the printer. This will make the small white plastic
lock next to the print head carriage move done.

With this down you can move the carriage back and forth by hand.

Fold up some paper towel so that it is a long narrow strip about 3/4 inch
wide to place on top of the black plastic track that the print head travels
over when it moves from side to side. The paper towel should be dampened
with Windex, Fantastic, ammonia & water or rubbing alcohol an water.
Something to help dissolve the ink.

With the damp paper towel in place manually move the print head over it and
then move it back and forth to wipe off the bottom of the print head. Keep
changing the paper towel until it comes out pretty clean.

VERY IMPORTANT: When you are done move the print head carriage back to it's
rest position on the far right before you turn it on or you risk damaging
the printer.

Another suggestion for clearing stubborn clogs is to take you the CIS
cartridges and set them aside, upright and higher than the bottles. Install
some Epson color cartridges and do nozzle checks and cleanings until the
nozzle checks are 100%. Then print out a page of the 6 color purge pattern
you can find at:

http://www.inksupply.com/index.cfm?source=html/purging.html

At this point if your nozzle check is perfect reinstall the CIS cartridges
and give it another try.
