David,

To get the correct printer model you need the PPD file that
has the QTR info included.  In the QTR distribution there's
a PPDs directory that has all the PPD files in compressed format.
There's also a Makefile that will install these in the correct
location assuming cups-config exists and gives the location.

Unfortunately I don't have a Linux system so I'm not sure
where they should reside on your system.
