I think you will find that the paper fead rubbers that feadthe paper need replacing i had this trouble and on the advice of epson n.z. replaced the fead system not just the rubbers as it is very difficult process , but be warned it took about 12 weeks to get the part maybee the service will be better where you are. ray maxwell

I have the same problem with my 1200. It is frustrating because it seems
intermittent. After the initial feed begins it doesn't catch in the last
row of rollers. I examined them with a flashlight and they are clean and
dry. I have less problems when the paper tray is full. I wonder if there is
a fine paper thickness adjustment? It looks to me that the paper thickness
lever only moves the location of the print head rather than the
roller/paper distance.
