Hello, as a slightly bewildered beginner (about to splash out on all the equipment), could I ask a probably dumb question? From Paul's posts, I understand that the 1270-1290 are basically the same printer. The 1280, however, seems to be the best supported by MIS. From my perusal of the Epson site, however, it appears to have been replaced by the 1290. If I was to get a 1290 (which I may not have to do as a friend may be giving me his old 1200), all the inks are available in bulk anyway, so I am curious as to why the 1280 is the one always quoted. Would it be logical to assume that in time, the 1290 will be the printer of choice, or is there some other factor I've overlooked? BTW, thank you so much for your contributions, Paul, which must take a lot of your valuable time. thanks, Richard -- http://smallfield.vze.com/ http://photos.smallfield.vze.com/ ---------- --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
