Digital BW, The Print

Hi Jeff

I am a bit ignorant and new to the digital world.
I have a 1280 but it¹s called 1290 out here in Asia where I live.
Cannot seem to get the photos looking right.
You say that it is the printer of choice for B&W.  Is this correct?
Also, what ink set do you suggest and where can I buy it?
What papers should I buy?
What is Piezography setup?
Are the prints going to look as good as the traditional dark room print?
Any help or suggestion you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
