RE: [Digital BW] ink positions in variable mix quadtones (Hex set)

2003-10-31 by Paul Roark

Mike,

In the hextone MIS VM and UT inksets, the light gray is in the yellow
position, and the medium gray is in the light/photo cyan position. (Toners
are in the magenta positions.)

Subject: [Digital BW] ink positions in variable mix quadtones (Hex set)

For the MIS Variable Tone Hex set, I cannot determine for sure, by
eyeballing my purge patterns, whether the Medium Grey ink is in the
yellow or light cyan position (the inks are only labeled according to
their corresponding color positions). It almost looks as though it's
in the yellow position. However, I just read a paper about the new
ultratones that stated the Medium Grey was in the Light Cyan
position, so I think it may just be my eyes.

Can someone let me know in which corresponding color chambers the
Medium Grey and Light Grey reside for the MIS Variable Tone Hex set?

Thanks,

Mike
