Yes they are. They are also much cheaper to make than a random dot
(stochastic) Imagesetter negatives that photographer Dan Burkholder wrote
his wonderful book about.

  I guess it's a fairly subjective opinion whether digital files
  printed on OHP material are comparable to (or as-good-as) regular
  negatives - both contact printed.
