* First off, you folks have a wondeful site here. I have tried
* changing my prefrences back to 'no email' but still get individual
* messages, any thoughts on this?

Rocco,

Yahoo Groups is often very slow with these types of changes. Give it a few
days and if are still getting e-mail let me know off line.

* Lastly, I am searching for a christamas present for my self and
* am thinking new flatbed scanner or comprable priced film
* scanner. I am currently using an old Microtec X6.
* I am looking to archive years and years of negatives
* and also be able take partion aspects of negatives and blow up
* to reasonable prints 5x7 or 8x10. I am looking to stay in the
* $400-$500 range.

You didn't say what size film you want to scan but the Epson 3200 has been
very popular for medium to large negatives. For 35mm you would probably be
better off with any of the lower priced dedicated 35mm scanners with
resolutions in the 3600 ppi and up range. I had a Microtek 4000t (under a
Polaroid label) that was very good. They are $470 at B&H. Fujifilm and
Pacific image also have scanners in your budget.
