* I purchased ConeTech Quad. B & W for my 1280 over a year ago. My wife
* passed away, so I'm now just setting it up. I'm reading the manual
* for ConeTech, but I'm getting terrible results. I now, also, have a
* 2200. I've printed B & W with that and the results are OK, but not
* great. I'm an OK amateur photographer, but I'm pretty much right
* brained, and I don't do very well with deep technical stuff. But, I
* did hunker down and learn PhotoShop and digital photography. Yeah,
* yeah, I spent a couple years with those training books with
* the CD's. I do acceptable color printing. Is there a book,
* class or something
* that will help me understand Pieazography. Or, am I dead meat. ha ha

Graham,

I have been happily using PiezoTone inks and the Piezo plug-in driver for a
long time with great success and few problems. It is one of the easier
grayscale ink systems to work with.

There is also a Yahoo Group dedicated to Piezo:

A lot of info on the inkjetmall.com site as well.

You should also know that they have completely change their software and
that upgrades for the 1280 are supposed to be available 11/17. Early reports
are that it is as good or better than the version you have. Something to
check into and/or watch for user reviews as the new product comes into use.

What terrible results are you getting? Are you using cartridges or a
continuous inking system? If the printer has been sitting unused with the
ink installed that may be your problem.
