I find the easiest way is two dedicated printers. I have a 1280 with quadtones for b&w work and a 890 with color inks. The 890 is like a 1280 but only does 8.5x11 and is available for around $150 (refurb direct from Epson)It's just much easier and actually more economical than swapping inks. I pretty much trust MIS (Bob Ziess who consults with Paul Roark)for very good advice. I pretty much take them at their word.
