Re: [Digital BW] Inks for Canon

2003-12-06 by Editor P.O.V. Image Service

Some GOOD news..

1) The Lyson Small Gamuts for the Canons are finally available and
being made right here in the USA by Lyson.. I'm going to profile and
compare them to those for the 1280 as soon as I get my hands on some
cartridges.. Bulk price for a 4 oz bottle will be only $23 per bottle
per color.. Which is cheaper than buying from Marrutt..

2) I also intend to find out what Graphic Sciences / Inkjet Digital
can do in this regard. They list pigment inks for the Canons on their
website.. but until I see them work in at least an s900/s9000 class
printhead.. well, you know the old adage.. (I had tried pigment inks
from another supplier that worked in a BJC 800, same cartridge, with the
S9000, result: destroyed a printhead - so until I test it I'm a
"doubting Thomas")

The Bad news...

1) The first batch was gone almost immediately.. Even I don't have
any yet.. However, they should be in-stock with Lyson in about a week
or so...

2) InkJetMall has removed the promise of a Nov 30 debut of the
Piezotones for Canon and now simply says the Piezography software can
work with some Canons - of course they don't sell any inks to work with
those Canons, nor do they license the plugin for creating profiles etc
for other inksets. So, hopefully, IJM will eventually have inks for the
Canons...
