Re: Misaligned line in nozzle check - please help

2003-12-07 by Jeff Randall

Have you cleaned the bottom of the printhead (paper towel & windex in
the plastic "trough")? The bottom of the printhead often gets gummed
up with semidried ink that misdirect the ink jets. Also the parking
pad and wiper should be cleaned with windex. Use Windex with ammonia-
D or any other ammonia-based window cleaner. Homebrew is 1 part
household ammonia to 9 parts water.

Note: The ammonia (high pH) cleaners only work with basic/high pH
inksets. To check for compatability, drop a little ink into some
cleaner. The ink should disperse rapidly, if it clots, then don't
use.

(I'm using UT inks.)
