Digital BW, The Print

I have an Epson 1280 printer and bought some 13 x 19 Epson 
heavyweight matte paper off eBay and started my experimentation with 
this large a print. The printing went fine till 2/3 completed and the 
ink seemed to run out. The last 1/3 of the print was lighter than the 
rest of the image. I let the print complete in that condition and 
turned right around and printed an 8.5 x 11 print and it seemed to 
print just fine. Has anyone else run into this situation before. 
Since there is no way to pause the print or back it up, a sheet of 
this large paper is marked up to experience. I don't want this to 
become a common thing with large sheets. They cost too much to play 
with.
